Fresh eggs from free range, pasture raised hens.

Our hens are raised outside, on rotational pasture. This means that we fence off an area of pasture, and once the hens have grazed it down, the fence is moved to another section. This grazing management enables them to always have access to a lush, green pasture where they can forage for bugs, greens and scratch dirt. This makes for happy hens, and delicious eggs!

Our hens are fed a GMO free feed that is custom made for us by a local mill. The feed contains organic micro soy, wheat, barley and minerals. It does not contain any antibiotics, hormones or animal by-products.

The hens have free access to fresh water at all times, and to comfortable housing with roosts and nest boxes. We supplement their feed with fallen apples (which they love!) and greens and veggies from the garden.

In June 2016, our farm was selected to take part in a pilot project implemented by the Fédération des producteurs d’oeufs du Québec in partnership with the Association des marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ) and the Coopérative pour l’agriculture de proximité écologique (CAPÉ), enabling us to sell washed, but ungraded eggs at farmer’s markets, through online Marchés de solidarité (online ordering platform for local groups of consumers buying directly from farmers) and community supported agriculture (CSA) vegetable basket deliveries. This project has been a great way to get more small farm raised eggs directly to consumer’s tables.
